Terrace Barn
Near Ripon in North Yorkshire
Barn Location
Many of our guests give the Barn 10/10 for location, because as well as easy access into the Dales, you can also have day trips to the Moors and the heritage coast including Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay.
The Barn is quiet and secluded, but yet has good assess to main roads, so that visiting local towns, including York, Harrogate, Knaresborough and Richmond is quick and easy.
In fact, the Barn's central location in North Yorkshire provides an ideal base from which to discover much of 'Gods own Country' on day trips.
The barn is situated in pretty rolling countryside between the cathedral city of Ripon and the pretty market and brewing town of Masham. There is masses to do and visit in the immediate area, from Medieval castles (Castle Bolton and Middleham Castle) and stately homes (Newby Hall) to Neolithic henges, Thornborough Henge (real) and Druids Temple (pretend, but fantastic), and of course abbeys such as Fountains Abbey only six miles away and a world heritage site (other abbeys to visit are Jervaulx, Bolton, Rievaulx and Byland). And that doesn't even start on the natural splendours of the Dales.
